Dog of the Week: Eddie!

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

eddie-m[1]

Eddie is an UBER happy Border Terrier that loves running around, playing tag, fetch, and making new friends in the romper room! He is a bit of a ladies man, if I do say so myself, his favorites are Violet, Casey W., and Gracie.

Why we love… Maya & Apollo!

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Apollo has been attending daycare with us since 2007.Ā  His sister Maya joined us about a year ago.

Apollo is a happy (and talkative) Doberman. Maya enjoys joining him for a jaunty tune. It gets especially fun when it becomes a chorus. The huskies are always a sure fire bet to join as well.

We’ve actually seen the big brother become much more social now that his little sister has joined. She has a much more out-going personality and it seems to have helped his confidence.

The biggest reason we LOVE these siblings is that they are fantastic ambassadors for their breed. Dobermans can be intimidating to some and they carry an unfair challenge to overcome that bias. But these two carry it perfectly. They are sweet, well-behaved, playful, frisky and all around great dogs!

We will greatly miss our playmate Puck

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Puck and his sister Mimi have been coming to Dogtopia for nearly 2 years.

Cavaliers seem to be the happiest, jumpiest pups on the planet and we’ve really enjoyed their company.

Mimi is the smaller of the two and has always been a tiny bit shy, but just loves getting attention from all of the staff! Puck who had a very unique horseshoe shape on his side (so he always had good luck) will be greatly missed!

Puck recently passed away due to cancer; he was a playful, handsome, always happy gentleman! He will always be in our thoughts and we wish the best to Mimi and her parents!

Why we love… Hunter!

Hunter!

Hunter!

Hunter is a seven month old Chocolate Lab that bounces and rolls through the Toy Box at Dogtopia of White Flint nonstop when he’s here!

Why we love Hunter…

- He’s a big lovable fluff ball! At 60 pounds and seven months – we suspect he’s still got a lot of growing to do!

- He’s just on the cusp of graduating to the Gym to run with the big guys… (sniffle) our baby is growing up.

- He’s adorable running with his “gang” of larger breed puppies in the Toy Box. They provide a lot of amusement for the smaller dogs.

- Hunter’s only been with us a few months, but has proved an amazing supporter of Dogtopia! During our recent K9 Support dog wash, Hunter was the very first attendee!

- He has the sweetest brown eyes that just beg you to play with him and scratch his belly!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Sierra is an 11 week old Australian Shepherd puppy and we already have decided We <3 her!!

- For starter she’s an Aussie puppy… that speaks for itself
- She has a tail!
- She’s 11 weeks old and she’s a BIG girl – a lot of junk in that trunk
- We love the one blue eye!
- Did we mention she’s an Aussie puppy?

Why we love… Cricket & Hopper!

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Seriously? Look at these little ones!

The adorable sisters enjoy vacations at Dogtopia. As you can imagine, loud cries of “Awww!” and “Oh my goodness – how cute!” fly through the lobby when they arrive to play.

Hopper is on the left with the beautiful gray and black markings. Hopper is a spunky one! She loves to mix it up in the Romper Room. Don’t tell her she’s small!

Cricket is our gorgeous little red head. While Hopper is exploring every corner of the play room, Cricket can be found cuddled up with the staff.

Why we love… Brady!

Big smile!

Big smile!

Per Brady’s paperwork, he is a Husky/Collie mix. All we know is he is 100%

A littel excited to get his pic taken

A little excited to get his pic taken

sweet and we love having him in daycare.

Brady will be one in August and he’s a big fluff ball of fun!

In his young life he has faced and overcome some advertisty. He’s just a puppy, but has developed some trouble with his eyesight. But no need to feel sorry for Brady. He doesn’t let it get him down! He romps and plays with the best of them and never has a problem holding his own.

You can check him out the webcam chasing Yaki or just chilling out with our staff.

Why we love Freddie and Lewie!

Freddie & Lewie

Freddie & Lewie

Freddie and Lewie are sweet, almost 2 year old mixes that attend Dogtopia of Tysons AND Dogtopia of White Flint regularly. They like to spread their joy over two stores and we’re so lucky to have them!

- Both have been attending since they were puppies, but these siblings have a very unique tale. Though they are from the same litter, Lewie was adopted first. Freddie joined the family after a first adoption didn’t go as planned.

- We think having an adoption fall through is quite sad, but it has certainly worked out for the best! There’s a dog named Bo laying in the oval office right now who’d probably agree that 2nd homes are awesome!!

- We have lots of siblings that come to play with us, but Freddie and Lewie are the closest. They are best buds and can often be found running around The Gym playing tag.

- They both have lovely “singing” voices. When something exciting is going on they hit those high notes like Mariah Carey!

Why we love… Bear & Boo!

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Bear and Boo are loveable Rottweilers from the same litter that visit Dogtopia of White Flint for playdates every week!

Bear & Boo

Bear & Boo

Why we love having them around:

- By those who aren’t in the doggy know, Rottweiler’s can seem an intimidating breed. But meet one, have them lick your face and have them try to smother you with love and any negative connotation is removed!

- We love Bear as a girl’s name. How cute?

- Her name fits her personality. She’s an active player in the Gym – mixing it up and making friends with everyone!

- Boo is a little (big) man and his name fits him as well!

- It takes Boo a little time to warm up to new dogs and people. He’s a sweetheart and once you’re his friend, you’ll find him nestled right behind your leg all day.

- They are politely sharing the title of Dog of the Week. We heard Bear is lobbying to change the name to “Rottie of the Week”… she’s gathering support in the playroom right now.

Awesome dogs and we’re so happy to see their wagging tails… Rottweilier’s don’t have tails… so… we’re so happy to see their wasgging read-ends coming into our lobby!

Why we love… Ozzie & Betty!

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Ozzie and Betty are two of the biggest characters that come to play at Dogtopia!

They are both Super-Duper-Stars because…

- They are Miniature Schnauzers. Really is there anything else that could make you love them more than that?!

- Ozzie, who’ll be 4 this Summer, was the first born child of the family. He was a little King of the playroom…

Betty

Betty

- … until an adorable puppy, Ms. Betty, came into the picture and challenged his title. Notice how we used “Ms” instead of “Miss”… it reflects her sassiness!!

- We weren’t sure how Ozzie would react to his new sister – splitting time at home and here, but it turns out they make a fantastic little duo! The attitude is fun squared. :)

- Their mom, Courtney, is always a blast to chat with when she brings the kids and she’s been a Dogtopia supporter since the beginning!
