From Examiner.com’s Pet Friendly Place Column:
Admittedly, it’s been a rough season for the Nationals. Jersey misspellings, troubled prospects, and the small matter of having the worst winning percentage in the league – the times have been hard. Conjuring up desire for a trip to the ball park, other than the ample supply of Five Guys, has been elusive for even the most faithful fan.
But hope springs eternal and their latest making move is sure to be a grand slam – Pups in the Park!
If you’re planning a stay-cation for the upcoming Labor Day weekend, consider wrapping up the summer by taking your dog out to the ball game.
The De-tales:
- Dog will be allowed to attend this Sunday’s 1:35 p.m game versus the Florida Marlins at Nationals Park (Saturday game tickets were previously available, but have sold out)
- Discounted tickets may be purchased for $18 (regularly $30), with doggie tickets priced at $5. The Washington Humane Society will receive $2 from each human ticket and 100% of pup ticket proceeds.
- All seats are located in section 201 of the left field mezzanine and each dog will receive their own seat. Book fast because only 75 total are alloted.
- You must purchase your tickets via the Nationals website.
- After purchasing you will receive a confirmation email containing additional information, including a waiver, reminder to bring proof of up-to-date vaccinations and some pup socialization tips.
Paw Bumps…
… to the Nationals for even considering hosting furry friends in the park.
… to their special events staff for having the foresight to designate “relief areas”, as well as having pet sitters on-site to watch your dog when you’d like to snag a food/drink or need to visit a human relief area.
