Dog of the Week: Dodger!

Dog of the Week

Dog of the Week

Dodger is a 2 year old Gordan Setter Mix. He LOVES it here at Dogtopia®. In the beginning, he was a bit shy and cautious, however Dodger has warmed up to us and the dogs. Now he has come out of his shell and been a very playful and excited boy. He is always welcoming of our new friends and will gladly show them a warm and open heart. His best friends are Maddison, Jasmine and Luna (and ANYONE who will run and play chase!).

Dog of the Week

This is ROCCO! Rocco is a 1 year old English Bulldog, who enjoys EVERYTHING about daycare! He loves to play and wrestle in the Gym and in the Romper Room. He LOVES to hide under the play gyms in holes and tunnels as if he was in a cave exploring!

Dog of the Week – Scout!

Brittany dog

Brittany dog

Scout is one of the happiest dogs ever to come stay with us at White Flint!! Just check out that smile!

Scout has been coming for boarding for a little over a year now and we get all giddy each time her parents call to book her stay. She enjoys romping in the play equipment with her best friends Yaki, Bella, Guapo, Tanner, Nora and Hildy.

She seems to always have that smile on her face when she is here and she definitely keeps one on all of our faces!

Why we love… Hunter!

Hunter!

Hunter!

Hunter is a seven month old Chocolate Lab that bounces and rolls through the Toy Box at Dogtopia of White Flint nonstop when he’s here!

Why we love Hunter…

- He’s a big lovable fluff ball! At 60 pounds and seven months – we suspect he’s still got a lot of growing to do!

- He’s just on the cusp of graduating to the Gym to run with the big guys… (sniffle) our baby is growing up.

- He’s adorable running with his “gang” of larger breed puppies in the Toy Box. They provide a lot of amusement for the smaller dogs.

- Hunter’s only been with us a few months, but has proved an amazing supporter of Dogtopia! During our recent K9 Support dog wash, Hunter was the very first attendee!

- He has the sweetest brown eyes that just beg you to play with him and scratch his belly!

Dogtopia CEO Amy Nichols unleashes 5 dog daycare facts

Two friends enjoying daycare

Two friends enjoying daycare

Seeking a good daycare for your dog can be quite similar to a daycare for your child. There are so many questions to be answered! Our founder, Amy Nichols, shared some thoughts on dog daycare to separate fact from fiction:

  • Day care provides quality, structured care: Dog day care provides a structured schedule for your pooch, complete with activities, nap time, snack time and social play. Each Dogtopia location includes a gymnasium, romper room, and lounge to suit the different sizes and play styles of their diverse clientele. There is plenty of open space, which gives your dog the opportunity to interact with other dogs, while running around and burning off plenty of pent-up energy.
  • Peace of mind: Dog day care provides all-day service for your pup—that means tons of active play time with plenty of their four-legged friends. There will not be a moment in the day where the owner has to wonder, ‘Is my dog alone?’ The typical Dogtopia location cares for between 50 to 80 dogs per day with a ratio of one caregiver per 10-15 dogs.
  • Your dog is never out of your sight: To create even more peace of mind for dog owners, Dogtopia employs web cam technology that allows the dogs’ owners to check on their pets at any time.
  • Entrance Exams: A Great Dane might not make the best company for a Dachshund and Dogtopia understands that. All dogs undergo evaluations that include a health assessment, vaccination verification, and a temperament test to insure that the dog is social and comfortable in large groups. Dogs are placed in play groups that suit their style.
  • Trained Staff: It’s important that your dog is consistently happy and healthy, so Dogtopia only employs the best. The Dogtopia staff is fully trained to provide the best care for your pup. Store owners attend pet CPR classes and all employees are trained in pack management and dog behavior.

Why we love… Cricket & Hopper!

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Seriously? Look at these little ones!

The adorable sisters enjoy vacations at Dogtopia. As you can imagine, loud cries of “Awww!” and “Oh my goodness – how cute!” fly through the lobby when they arrive to play.

Hopper is on the left with the beautiful gray and black markings. Hopper is a spunky one! She loves to mix it up in the Romper Room. Don’t tell her she’s small!

Cricket is our gorgeous little red head. While Hopper is exploring every corner of the play room, Cricket can be found cuddled up with the staff.

Why we love… Brady!

Big smile!

Big smile!

Per Brady’s paperwork, he is a Husky/Collie mix. All we know is he is 100%

A littel excited to get his pic taken

A little excited to get his pic taken

sweet and we love having him in daycare.

Brady will be one in August and he’s a big fluff ball of fun!

In his young life he has faced and overcome some advertisty. He’s just a puppy, but has developed some trouble with his eyesight. But no need to feel sorry for Brady. He doesn’t let it get him down! He romps and plays with the best of them and never has a problem holding his own.

You can check him out the webcam chasing Yaki or just chilling out with our staff.
