Snow. Oh how we Texans get a little crazy when those beautiful white flakes start falling! Typically at the first mention of *Snow* on the weather report everyone launches into crisis mode. This means heading for the grocery store to stock up on those important things like 3 gallons of milk, coffee, and firewood. In all fairness though, as most Central Texans know, snow for us usually means ice if we get anything at all. However, we finally got our Snow Day here in Waco and while the dogs enjoyed the flurries I think the Pack Leaders enjoyed it a bit more. During naptime I was in my office working when a snowball fight erupted in the lobby. Yes, I said LOBBY and it was started by none other than Kim! Using the Evaluation room as her home base she blasted Jade as she arrived for work but Ms. Molly made them take it outside where they waited for Sam to arrive.

It was great fun to see all of the creative snowmen in the neighborhood and all of the pictures on Facebook of dogs in the snow! Here are a few of our pictures from our rare snow day at Dogtopia Waco. There are more pictures on our Facebook page.

GREAT SCOTT! Well the voting has ended and the results are in and I know you’ve been shivering with antici…pation!

Who was the most SPOOKTACULAR?

Pearl Nemec as Dr. Frank-N-Furter from the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Pearl ran away with the Most Original Category AND had the most votes of all of our entries. She is going on to compete against the other Dogtopia Stores for title of Grand Champion and a 5 day daycare pass. So PLEASE go vote for Pearl in our National Competition! Voting starts Oct 29th right here www.dogdaycare.com and goes through Halloween weekend.

Who’s The Cutest of them all? Well…they were ALL pretty darn cute! It was a race to the finish though between Super Troop and Bo the Bunch of Grapes. Bo pulled out ahead just enough to win the Cutest category!

Our next winner cooked up a super showing in the Funniest Category! Belle the Bulldog (aka Belle Belle by the pack leaders here at Dogtopia Waco) and her brother Luke the Lobster were awfully cute, creative, AND funny! Their Mom admits it took a lot of treats to get just the right photo!

Our winners will receive goodie baskets at our Halloween Party on Saturday! Thanks to all that entered the contest this year. I didn’t think it possible to top some of our contestants from last year but you all did an awesome job!

Wow, I can’t believe all of the votes so far! We love reading the comments! Don’t forget that the dog with the most votes will be submitted to compete in the National Dogtopia Competition. Starting October 29th Waco’s winner will go up against dogs in many different states to see who will be the Grand Champion. Last year we had the honor of having Monkey as the Grinch win and of course we would LOVE to have a local Grand Champion again! The winner will receive a 5 day daycare pass to their local Dogtopia. We will let you know when the Nationals begin and remind you to go vote!

In the meantime don’t forget it is Tricks For Treats week at Dogtopia Waco! Every day we are going to have tons of fun going on with drawings for prizes and treats!

Our grooming department, Jacqui & Brittany, are excited to introduce the BBB Bling Bonanza! So excited, in fact, they want their Facebook & Blog buddies to be the first to preview it!

Ok, I’m sure you are asking what is a BBB Bling Bonanza! The first 5 clients that call and request this preview will receive: a Bath suited to their fuzzy buddy’s skin & coat needs, a fabulous brush out with a fluffing blow dry and nail trim. Their teeth will be brushed with our wonderful new oral gel followed by a minty mouth mist. Then, to top it all off they will dress them up in one of their beautiful new bandannas or pretty little satin bows…for the BLING they are misted down with our new Sparkle Spray!

Hey Dogtopians!

I just received a sample of a holiday scented shampoo and I’m itching to try it out! Soooo….the next customer that calls and books boarding for this holiday weekend (meaning to stay at least one night with us anytime between Friday the 4th-Monday the 6th) will receive a free daycare bath in our Sugar Cookie Shampoo! Just a heads up that our HOT Summer Special is still going on! So if you have a weekend trip coming up it would be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of it! Ashley Herridge aka Bo and Rex’s Mom!

Ashley was the 1st to answer the Dog Days of Summer Trivia contest correctly. So, next Tuesday when Bo and Rex come for daycare they will receive Paw-dicures from Jacqui. The boys have had Paw-dicures before and while Rex think’s they are ok, Mr. Bo is a big fan. He especially loves when Jacqui massages the moisturizer into his pads. It’s pretty cute though, Rex has to supervise anytime Bo is having anything “done” at the spa.
