Alfie and the Pogo
We receive a great monthly publication called The Whole Dog Journal. They cover a wide variety of dog related topics from health, behavior, fun toys, treats, games, activities, and the best breakdown of dog foods that I’ve seen. In the January 2010 issue Products That Rock feature I spyed the Pogo Plush. Ok, so you are probably thinking it looks like a typical and boring fuzzy stuffed ball. Not so! The Pogo is not stuffed but it does have a rubber frame inside that keeps the Pogo puffed up and gives it spring. No stuffing means the squeaker moves around to keep your dog guessing…chewing…and on the hunt. It seemed too simple to be true but I trust the WDJ and we ordered a few. This weekend I took one home to try out on Alfie. While not overly destructive with his toys, he does tend to get bored easily. I even took the camera home to document how it went. I will confess that I waited for the right moment…when he approached me with that “I’m bored” look. The second I squeaked it….he was all over it, grabbed it out of my hand and was off and running. He squeaked it, ran through the house with it, tossed it around, pulled at the “fur” for at least ten minutes. He then proceeded to hop up on the couch, lay his head on it for a nap. So while ten minutes it a really good go for his attention span I didn’t know if it would hold. However, every night when we get home instead of his beloved stuffed bunny….he picks up his Pogo. So I would say so far success! Now we just need someone a little more destructive to try it out and see how long it lasts! Below…The Alf-inators Pogo Progression!

I will have to let Rocky try it . Sounds like fun and it would hold his attention (short attention spam too).
BUT, he is very destructive! I will have to check it out when I go by the daycare.
