Wow…what a hard fought battle!  But from the Fantastic Four comes the finalist…CASPIAN AND SNOWBALL…Sic ‘em Bears! 

As the Bears fight it out amongst themselves, will the Caspianites and the Snowballers be able to have a friendly competition or will this Baylor drama forever split the green and gold? 

 The sweet taste of victory!  These two climbed (OK…maybe campaigned) their way to the top only to be faced with one, final, daunting battle…the battle for the most coveted championship of all time.  Forget about the NCAA…forget about the Big 12…this competition is for…the recognition…the glory…THE TITLE…yes, it is for the championship of the first annual MUTT MADNESS competition! (Don’t you get goose bumps just thinking about it?)

But every competitor must have the one thing that sets them apart, the backbone of their strategy…the secret to success.  Team Snowball and Team Caspian both know that it is the fans, YOU, who will cheer them to victory!   Do you have one more vote in you?  Do you believe in your team…enough?

LET THE FINAL GAME BEGIN!      You know about the title they are playing for, you know about the fabulous prize…but to make the victory even sweeter the victor wins their very own private indoor dog park party!  What better way to celebrate.

Voting begins now and goes through 11:59pm Wednesday April 1st. All votes after midnight will not be counted, and you may only vote once per name and email address. Duplicate votes will be thrown out.  The champion will be announced on Thursday!

Wow! These Mutt Madness Fans are INTENSE! It’s been down to the wire and I think there has been some serious campaigning going on!

I’ll have the final tally up in the morning. With all the Baylor fans, will it be a Baylor Bear throw down between Caspian and Snowball? Did Austin pull in enough long horns or did all of those Agility and Angel Paws fans push Ranger through the final hoop? Stay tuned…and Kim and I have decided to throw in an extra prize to the winner…just to sweeten the victory! More on that with the winners announcement tomorrow!

Just a reminder that the voting will end at midnight tonight! The voting was fast and furious yesterday so lets keep it up! I will tally the votes on Saturday morning and post the results and 2nd round that afternoon. The voting for round 2 will end on Monday at 7 p.m. and the FINAL ROUND will start on Tuesday with our winner being announced on Thursday.

Also, for those Twitter fans out there I have setup an account for Dogtopia Waco. So if you would like to follow us over there for updates, fun facts and whatever else I can think of, please do so! I’m not sure what all we can do with it yet but hopefully it will be fun! Ok, we have approval to extend the voting so you have a little more time. All votes must be in by Midnight on Friday the 27th.

Also to clear up some confusion, yes you can vote for as many of the match ups as you want but you may only vote once per match up. So you can pick your favorite in match up 1, match up 2, match up 3, and match up 4. Some comments are sent to me for approval so if they don’t show up right away that is why.

 We will announce the winners of this first round this Friday!

Well last week Dogtopia of Waco officially turned 1 year old!

To celebrate our first year of being open we had a birthday party! For our furry friends there was doggy cake and ice cream, some played “Kim Says” (a owner and dog version of Simon Says), and many went dunking for weenies in the kiddie pool. Daisy Wilson cleaned up in the weenie dunk competition!

Andy won the big dog round of “Kim Says” and Gracie won the little dog round. I have to admit it was too much fun watching owners sit, down, and speak along with their dogs! Vicky from Precious Paws Photography was there snapping pics and Tracy Dulock from Dooley Press Canine Massage and Karen Froehlich, Director of the Waco Humage Society were also on hand to help judge our games. It really seemed like dogs and parents both had a blast.

More Cake Please!

Moses devoured his cake and ice cream, Annie loved the cake put gave her ice cream to Oliver and I’m not sure if Doodles ever got to try it because Snowball kept eating hers before she could get to it. Clearly, Charlie Yee did not get enough cake.

It was also the kick off of our Mutt Madness competition and we have some great entries! We have 8 entries so far and are starting the voting a day later than planned due to technical difficulties.  So check the blog on Wedensday where we will introduce our first voting round.

The First Round opens Monday, March 23rd and will continue every other day through-out the week until we reach our final 2!
