Dirty Dogs Help Save Lives
Monday, July 2nd, 2012Dirty Dogs Help Save Lives
Temecula, CA – July 22, 2012

On July 22nd from 10am to 2pm, Dogtopia of Temecula is hosting a charity dog wash to benefit K-9 Support, Inc., with all proceeds benefitting military working dogs. These dogs are currently deployed overseas and their duties range from Bomb Detection to Military Police K-9 teams. These dogs are on the front lines fighting the War on Terror, putting their lives at risk to save our men and women in uniform.
“These dogs are doing jobs that help keep our Marines and soldiers safe,” said Patrick Moody, owner of Dogtopia of Temecula. “They are in the same hostile environments as our military, but frequently lack needed equipment such as ‘doggles’ to keep the blowing dust out of their eyes. The cash strapped units typically don’t have the funds to provide these types of ‘luxury’ items to their dogs,” continued Moody. “In addition to badly needed safety equipment, many times the working dogs lack some of the comforts of home such as treats and durable toys for a little R&R.”
To date, K-9 Support has raised over $80,000 for working dogs; in 2011 alone, $24,000 was raised. The goal for this year is to raise $30,000 across the country. Every dog that comes in will be given a bath, bandana, and spritz of cologne. There will be raffle prizes donated by local businesses and vendor tables to browse while you are waiting for your turn.
K-9 Support was formed as the charitable arm for Dogtopia, a nationwide franchise. Dogtopia of Temecula is an award winning facility that provides open play daycare, boarding, and spa services to dogs. Dogtopia of Temecula opened in 2008 and is located at 27629 Commerce Center Drive, Temecula, CA 92590.
