Each year we ask you to send in your spooky, cute, original and outright AWESOME pictures of your dog in their Halloween gear for our “Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest”. We’re always thrilled to see our favorite four-legged clients dressed up for the holiday and this year was certainly no disappointment!

Choose your favorite and vote by leaving a comment with the dog’s name and costume. Voting is open until Wednesday, the 28th, at 5pm. Only one vote per person is allowed, but you can certainly pass the contest along to anyone and everyone you’d like to get the vote out for your fav!!

A full service spa day (bath, nails, ears) as well as a 5-Day Pass are up for grabs – Good Luck to our fantastic contestants!

Pictures will be posted to our blog and voting will begin on October 23rd.  To vote for your favorite costume simply leave a comment here on our blog with the name of the dog who you think has the best costume. 

The lucky winner with the most votes by 5pm Wednesday, October 28th,  will receive a very special exclusive Dogtopia prize and will also go through to the Dogtopia National Competition for a chance to win a 5-day daycare pass!

Get your friends and family on board and have them submit their own picture for a chance to win.  The more entries we have, the more fun it will be!

When submitting your entry, please be sure to include your name, email address, and contact phone number, as well as your dog’s name, breed, and a title for their picture.

Remember: Costumes, while fun, can also be dangerous. Make sure your dog cannot get tangled, choked or otherwise injured in his or her Halloween costume. Never leave your pet unsupervised while in costume.

Well, we finally finished up our charity event at 3:30, 1 and a half hours late due to the awesome turnout!  When the fur settled, we gave baths to 64 pooches!  They ranged in size from a Miniature Poodle to our last dog, a 170 pound Leonberger. 

We raised a total of $1216 for the City of Murrieta Police K-9 unit in donations and raffle ticket sales.  This was a great success and the K-9 unit can put the funds to good use for these often overlooked four legged Officers.            

We would like to thank all of the wonderful vendors that helped out and a special thanks to Valley Towel Rental Service who provided us with the all the towels we needed.

Yesterday at Dogtopia was a blast!  We had 7 Pugs in total attending daycare – completely unplanned.  The staff and the owners had a great time watching their Pugs running around on camera; they commented on not being able to figure out which Pug was theirs.  At the end of the day, we are happy to report we returned each Pug to its rightful owners. 

Tuesdays and Thursdays at Dogtopia are really shapping up to be our “small dog” days.  If you have a little one you’d like to socialize and get exercise, come on down for daycare.  You will love bringing home a tired dog.

Ah, it’s been a while since our last blog; things have been busy here as we ramp up for summer boarding reservations.  The latest and greatest exciting news is that Dogtopia of Temecula is helping support the City of Temecula with donations of much needed waste bags for its two dog parks, Red Hawk and Margarita.  With many cities experiencing tough economic times, it was our pleasure to help out.  We want nothing more than to see our four legged neighbors continue to have a blast as they play in the city parks.  When you have a chance, go and check out our signage at the park!

Dogtopia is the Temecula Valley’s premier dog daycare, boarding and spa facility.  Our facility features an open play environment where your dog is free to play with other dogs of similar size and temperament.  We have three large climate-controlled playrooms with padded flooring, full supervision in each room, live webcams and an 1,800 square foot outside yard with grass and trees.  This is your dog’s home away from home.  Your dog will also receive tons of individual attention from our trained daycare staff.  
 

The benefits of allowing your dog to attend doggie daycare are astounding. For young dogs it teaches them invaluable social skills that will help them learn how to properly meet and interact with a variety of other dogs. It also helps young puppies with their potty training because we keep them on a very routine potty schedule. Very hyper dogs are given a proper outlet for all of that energy. At the end of the day you can simply relax and enjoy their company at home and not have a dog demanding attention and exercise.

Dogs love to run, jump and play, and that’s exactly what we encourage here at Dogtopia.  Dogs spend their day in playgroups, rotating between indoor and outdoor play areas. Playgroups are formed with dogs of similar sizes and temperaments.Dogs arrive as their parents leave for work, school or a long day of errands.  Their furry friends immediately greet them ready for a long day of play. The day is spent playing on the playground equipment, swimming in the kiddy pool, or just lounging around on the sofa. By the time parents arrive to pick-up their dogs from doggie daycare, they find their dog tired and ready for a nice dinner then off to bed. This is a dream come true for the equally tired pet owner.

On Saturday, March 28, 2009 Dogtopia of Temecula held a dog wash fundraiser.  All the proceeds went to the Murrieta Valley High School’s Freshman Class and what a huge success it was!  We had a great turnout along with some very generous people.  We were even told that this was the most successful fundraiser for them yet.  We were proud to be a part of such a wonderful cause and are looking forward to hosting another fundraising dog wash in the near future.

Monday Mutt Madness
