Dogtopia has lost another friend recently. This time it is my dog, PJ.
PJ was my inspiration in opening Dogtopia and I know he enjoyed every minute he was here. Thank you to every one who loved on him and gave him treats. He was pretty demanding on those treats if he was behind the desk. A special thanks to my best friend, Janet, who has helped us in the last year when he became sick. He was a special dog and will always be in my families hearts. He was my pretty boy!

Our annual Charity Dog Wash is Sunday, July 18th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please come out and support the Raleigh K-9 unit by donating $10 and having your pup washed. We will have live demonstrations from the K-9 unit at 12:15 and 1:45 pm. ECO Paws, Gourmutts, Bowman Animal Hospital, The Pet Necklace, Dynamic Dog and more will be as well.

She is a happy dog that was found on along side of a country road. Sallie absolutely loves to be petted and love interacting with my humans. She is house broken and crate trained. Also up to date on all my shots and spayed. She can get a little nervous around new animals, but once she has a chance to check them out, they will become best friends. She lived on a chain outside most of her life so she is just learning the easy commands.
You will have to meet this one! She would make a great addition to anyone’s home.

Say hello to Petunia Rose aka “Toony” who is a very sweet dog with a silly name. She was found living on the streets without a collar or a Milk Bone to her name after almost being hit by a car. She’s a happy go-lucky puppy with lots of energy and enthusiasm. She’s been crate-trained and is happy to go into her crate when she needs some quiet time away from the other kids. She gets along nicely with her 2 foster dog brothers and one dog sister. They rough-house just like children but they know when mom says no, she means it! Petunia’s still a puppy, her body has legs and big feet which don’t always work the way she wants them to. She’s like a gangly teenager. Petunia would do well in a home without cats. Petunia thinks she belongs in your lap all 55 lbs of her but she listens when you tell her no. She’s very much a people person and just wants to make her person happy if you are looking for an outside dog this is not the dog for you. Petunia likes to snuggle on the couch and in bed with you, she’s quite the furry little heater-good for these upcoming cold winter nights. She’s a stunning dog with a big personality who just wants to make you happy. Petunia will need a fenced yard and daily exercise. Petunia doesn’t really know how to bark which is the boxer side of her, and the sound she does make will only make you laugh. Adopting Petunia will bring you many years of happiness and love to look forward to.

Today was pool day and even though it was a little cloudy, the dogs still loved getting in the pools. Chelsea and Wyla decided to have a contest to see who could get more wet (it was a tie – they were both soaked!). Maggie P. had a blast splashing the water all over the place. And Sahara just jumped from one pool to the next! The rest of the dogs all got at least their feet wet and some realized that the pools could be alot of fun!

We are happy to report that we raised over $800 for the Raleigh K9 unit on Sunday. We would like to thank everyone who brough their pooches in for a nice bath and to meet to new friends. The police department put on an excellent demonstration and we all enjoyed the day. Below are a few pictures. Please stop by any time.
